| November/December Grab Bag A seasonal grab bag of little trips and parties, including the Bryans Holiday party, Shavor's annual holiday party, a trip to Nevada City and whatnot. | |
| 14 October 2006 -- Mark and Ivy's wedding! Well, when you get a "Save The Dia" pronouncement in the mail, you know you are up for a good time and -- without reservation -- decide to attend.
Lovely times with lovely hosts. Truly the party we all would want to hold in a lovely old city. Good for those two "kids".
| 29 September 2006 -- Wolfeboro! So, like I went up to Wolfeboro on my birthday holiday in order to work with the Pioneers, or so I thought. It was just Rangers Mike and Mikey up there -- apparently I was embarassingly left -of- the mailing list on that one. Anyways, I got to work Pioneer Bridge (so thanks, fools, I got the big job). Fortunately the sun wasn't too bright and I was able to squirt out of there before it got too late. | |
| Testing, testing. Complete fall bullshit. Rev 2.0 on the interface coming soon. Okay, things to do. Have veronica tell me where the hell this image is, allow some group tagging, mayhem like that shit. Also, should pull the date of the set or -something-. You'd think after fifteen years of this bullshit I would get it straight.
Good times indeed! Does this above line break? Testing testing.
| 24 September 2006 -- Josh and Rachel's Wedding Well a good time in Corte Madera or wherever the hell it was. Lots of hills, lots of things to see. Can't figure out my cell phone -- that's about all there is to write on that score. Did some good work, hung out, looked really tan. All good times. Enjoyed Mr. Tonco's ceremonial palm shirt. Looked nice. | |
| 04 Sept 2006 -- Demolition Derby and Misc State Fair Well, did I mention we always end up going to the fair at least twice? At least. First time we go to do the fair: expos, see what rides they got, give a couple of carnies the finger -- that sort of thing. Second time we always go for some event. Some years its a concert, but if we are lucky the second (or maybe third or fourth) time we go, we go for THE DEMOLITION DERBY.Oh yeah, kids, its that time again. | |
| Summer grab bag Yeah, I appear to be getting away from shooting random events as well as -going- to random events, so lots more grab bags in your future, kids. Back in the day these were always the weird shots at the back of the roll. Nowadays its what we call pho-tog-ra-phy! | |
| 24 August 2006 -- The State Fair! Well, its one of those every year things as a Sacramentan and I always try to bring my camera. Once again, we've go to yon State Fair to discover what makes it fun -this- year! | |
| 6-19 July 2006, A Hawaiian Honeymoon Well, we had a lot of ideas about where we were going to go on our honeymoon. We talked about, oh, Italy, China -- lots of places.
Ultimately we decided that it didn't make a lot of sense to go to Hawaii to take advantage of a trade show Hilary had to work at AND to take a honeymoon someplace else, so we merged the two trips and got a full week paid for by Hilary's employer, vehicle included.
We also managed to stretch our 2006 Hawaiian experience to THREE islands, which is pretty cool in my estimation. Hana hou!
| 04 July 2006 -- Rancho Cordova Parade So, like, I know you've all been sitting here for the past month anxiously waiting for the moment that I'd clear the photos of the 4th of July Parade in Rancho. Either that or wondering when I was going to be posting juicy photos from Georgia's party and now being horribly dissapointed.
In any case, this year I strove to take a picture of EVERY SINGLE ENTRY and I think I did, though not the best necessarily and I missed the family with the razor scooters and moterized toy ATV, but its easy to get distracted, eh?
| 21-24 June 2006 -- Wedding! So, like, I finally made Hilary an Honest Woman this summer and invited a hellacious number of guests to come celebrate with us in a two-day fandango up in Plumas County. Lots of good food and wine and a ton of great peeps. Remember, if you haven't gotten us anything, you have until June 24, 2007 to make things right, though we can always look the other way after that ;) | |
| 16-18 June 2006 -- Bachelor Party What's a wedding without a bachelor party? Mine? I got to do pretty much what I wanted, though its probably not at all what you'd expect. | |
| 9-11 June -- Bisaillon Wedding My friends Beth and Mattias came over from Sweden and asked me to perform their wedding (#9). Such a honor! It was my first hardcore multi-cultural event and hard to know what would play to a multilingual crowd.
A lovely event up at Camp Richardson on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Nice to do a gig up in the pines.
| 28 May 2006 -- Dixie Festival Sacramento every year features a million bands and twice as many old people in the annual Dixieland Festival. I went to it a bunch of times as a kid and kind of cruised by it to poke fun of the tourists in recent years but Hilary and I decided things were kind of quiet so we should go out and take a gander. Good times, lots of music to be had. | |
| 13 May 2006 -- Folk's Vow Renewal My folks had their 35th anniversary this year and having come out of some rather rough years decided to renew their vows and I got to officiate! Good times! Also, Lots of Relatives. | |
| 11 May 2006 -- Foot Commute Riding on the train has many advantages, not the least of which is not having to dick around with traffics (which is The Sucks) and allowing one to have many Great Adventures.
Sadly, most of the Great Adventures happen when I -didn't- have my camera (pre-cameracell days) so this is as good as its gonna get for now.
| Camp Pollock, Spring I think I must have had grander ideas for some of these sets and I must apologize 'cause they are kind of janky. A small one here of Camp Pollock work parties. | |
| May -- Pool headaches Two pumps, some chem, lots of bad words, a ton of scrubbing and 12,000 gallons later, we had a deal. Cuba would go back to the mob...uh, whatever. | |
| April - May -- Kings Playoffs So Hilary gets this wild hair and decides to get PLAYOFF TICKETS. THE ENTIRE SERIES. This is what happens when you are on the waiting list forever -- mania sets in. I hate to admit that she bought THE ENTIRE '07 SEASON DESPITE OUR LOSING THE DAMNED PLAYOFFS AND I COULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT AS IT WAS HER WEDDING GIFT TO ME. Anyways, it was good times... | |
| Misc. Spring The seasonal grab-bag! | |
| 23 April 2006 One lazy Saturday with nothing much better going on, Hilary and I decided to get the hell out of the house and go see what the Crocker Art Museum was all about. Despite having gone huge amounts of distance to go see entirely other country's museums, we'd never taken time to go see the one in our backyard and guess what? It was Good Times.
Also -- duck. | |
| 27 March 2006 -- Northstar Well, looks like I'm going to fall far short of my 10 days of the previous year. Between weddings and a general disinterest in winter this year, its been hard to get going. Still, having hit Northstar and one othe rplace, I feel that I've at least packed in a minimal season... | |
| Josh and Chantalle's wedding I got asked to do my eigth service performing Josh and Chantalle's fabulous wedding. Great food and great folks, good times all around. | |
| Winter Grab Bag With the season's changing its time to break out all the onesey-twosey images and consolidate 'em again. In this set: the great flood, the palm tree debacle, and a halfassed couple of photos of Great Occasions. Now that I'm taking less of the latter, maybe I can coersce a few group shots in the future, though with wee ones... | |
| 19 March 2006 -- California Capitol Airshow Well, one couldn't miss its coming, what with the Blue Angels flying precipitously close over Rosemont's residential areas. Joe Money had been oft in town and the only way I'd been getting by was through sneaking naps and therefore I was painfully aware of six military jets on full afterburners scorching my asphalt roof.
I kid.
Geoff had hyped me on the show earlier in the week and we joined him, Jen and Hank out on the flightline in Mather for a few hours of pro-military revelry.
| Farewell Ralph's Ralph's grocery decided to pull out of Northern California once again, leaving my neighborhood to fend for itself amongst the lesser grocery stores. I'd grown quite fond of the goofy market and its staff and am quite sad to see it go | |
| 5 March 2006 -- Twins Birthday The boys turned a whopping THREE YEARS OLD this year, making me feel so very old and childless... | |
| 10 Feb 2006 -- Sugar Bowl Dennis invited me on a choice trip: riding along for his trip to Sugar Bowl to use his student-discounted tickets. Score! A nice day of snow up in Norden. | |
| 06-07 Feb 2006 We thought things were good in the hood at our wedding site but with a change in management at the restauraunt, Glen-the-Owner decided we needed to have a sitdown and discuss. Besides, we had yet to meet Patty Cakes!
I've been up to that region pretty much my entire life but this is the first time I've gone out of the June-September summer months. Crazy quiet without the boats on the lake and tourist traffic clogging up the town. Felt like we snuck in the back door...
| 05 Feb 2006 -- Lori's Winery Tour Dear friend Lori turned a fiesty 34 this year and of course merited a wonderous birthday celebration. Thence occured a glorious stretch-limo excursion into Amador county's wine country.
Hell, I didn't even know Amador HAD a wine country!
| January 9 - 14, 2006 -- Maui Last fall, Geoff convinced us that we needed to join his trip out to Maui with him. I'd been there a bunch of times as a kid and for the expense, man, I could be in Europe.
He convinced me that we needed to go and we joined the Dawes, the Bryans and some of the Dawe's good friends from Texas out in the charming island town of Kihei for a week of adventures.
